Being IHG Platinum members, we opted to stay at the InterContinental Hong Kong Grand Stanford. This isn’t to be confused with the InterContinental Hong Kong hotel thats about 1km west. Both are on Kowloon Island so it can be confusing.
Our flight landed at 5:30am so we weren’t able to check in just yet. So we freshened up real quick in the hotel lobby restroom and explored the city. The wonderful concierge held our belongings and escorted it to our room when it was ready. Super convenient! Like everything in Hong Kong – most speak English and Cantonese so communicating wasn’t a challenge here for Tracy (Cam did most of the talking on this trip since he does speak Cantonese).
What we love about this hotel:
Proximity to the trains and Star Ferry
Awesome views of Victoria Harbor
Friendly and accommodating staff
Provided us a phone with data access to use while we were on the island!
We weren’t able to try their breakfast buffet since we knew that we would be eating so much during this trip. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! Check out the images – definitely a home away from home.
Look at the view of the harbor!
It was HOT and HUMID during our visit (About 90ºF/31ºC) so we took a break in the middle of the day to enjoy the air conditioning and catch up on emails and things happening back home.
The hotel provided phone! Such a bonus! We used it and it works perfect. Once that battery ran out, we used our phones (we have international data included in our mobile plans).
The harbor just outside our hotel.
